Standardized tests are used to measure students reading skills prior to admittance to the program and again after completion of program to ascertain and be able to item analyze skills gained.

Students will gain the ability to analyze the structure of unfamiliar words, the ability to apply rules governing sounds of letters in words automatically, the ability to remember irregular words and to attack and pronounce multi-syllabic words of more than 4-syllables.
